Chris Parrington, of counsel in Kutak Rock’s Minneapolis office, will present at the CDFA // BNY Mellon Development Finance Webcast Series in a session titled “Development Finance and the Cannabis Industry” on Tuesday, July 19 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

The CDFA is partnering again with The Bank of New York Mellon to host 12, one-hour long webinars covering a wide range of development finance topics such as forecasting the bond market and financing rural broadband.

Speakers joining Mr. Parrington on the panel include Karen Ard, Senior Managing Director of Boustead & Company Limited; and Ira Weinstein, Principal of CohnReznick LLP. Tammy Davis, Vice President of The Bank of New York Mellon, will moderate the conversation.

The panel will discuss the legalization of recreational marijuana in 18 states across the country and the expected growth in the years to come. As the cannabis industry expands, there is significant opportunity for the development finance sector to play a role in financing the production and processing infrastructure, dispensary facilities and overall business development. The session will explore the creative financing approaches that are providing capital to the emerging cannabis industry and the economic benefits to states that have legalized the sale of recreational and medical marijuana.
