Kutak Rock partner Michael Mullin was presented with the Legal Pioneer Award at the Nebraska State Bar Foundation’s annual Fellows Dinner on March 26. The Legal Pioneer Award honors the lifetime achievements of a lawyer making innovative contributions to the improvement of justice. Mr. Mullin was recognized for his work as a mediator, having conducted over 4,200 mediations to date.

Michael Mullin has extensive litigation experience and has tried to conclusion more than 50 jury trials and numerous bench trials. In addition to his litigation practice, he has served as a mediator in over 4,200 disputes. He is the only Nebraska mediator to be inducted into the International Academy of Mediators and was the first (of two) Nebraska mediators to be inducted into the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. Best Lawyers in America has named Mr. Mullin a “Lawyer of the Year” in Nebraska on six different occasions, and he is one of three Nebraska lawyers to achieve a “Star Individual” status by Chambers USA. Mr. Mullin has demonstrated his commitment to his profession and to his community by serving on numerous law-related and civic boards and committees, including his service as a board member and officer of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation and President of the Omaha Bar Association.
