Kutak Rock is pleased to announce that attorney Thomas Bruder has joined its national public finance group and will be resident in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

Mr. Bruder focuses his practice on public finance representing issuers, underwriters, direct placement banks and borrowers on tax-exempt and taxable financings for the benefit of state and local governments, colleges and universities, private schools and other nonprofit organizations.

In his capacity as bond counsel and disclosure counsel, Mr. Bruder has extensive experience with current and advance refundings, master loan agreements, variable and multimodal interest rate structures, lease revenue financings, tax and revenue anticipation notes, certificates of participation and other financing structures. He previously served as Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice (DOJ) focusing on state and federal accounting, treasury, taxation and financial laws and regulations.

Mr. Bruder earned his J.D. from University of Notre Dame Law School and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Florida State University. He is admitted to practice in California.
