News | July 20, 2021

Kutak Rock’s former Chair, the late David Jacobson, will be inducted into the 2021 Aksarben Court of Honor in the category of Arts, along with his daughter, Rachel Jacobson. The Aksarben Foundation has presented the Court of Honor, one of the Foundation’s most prestigious awards, annually since 1988.

A member of the firm since 1977, Mr. Jacobson was a successful litigator who held multiple leadership positions, including head of the Omaha office’s litigation department and Chair of the firm from 1996 to 2017 before his passing in July 2018. As Chair, Mr. Jacobson worked diligently to foster and internalize the firm’s core values and advocate for their preservation.

Mr. Jacobson was an early champion for diversity and inclusion in the legal industry and was passionate about community service. He served on the board of directors of Partnership 4 Kids for 20 years and was also a member of numerous other boards and committees.

Mr. Jacobson’s legacy of community service lives on through his daughter, Rachel Jacobson, who founded and served as the Executive Director of Film Streams, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to enhancing the cultural environment of the Metro Omaha area through the presentation and discussion of film as an art form. In addition, Rachel serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands and is a Trustee for the Creighton University Business Ethics Alliance.
