Fred Davis, a partner and commercial litigator in the firm’s Little Rock office, will present a CLE on June 27 at 8:30 a.m. in Little Rock at the UALR Bowen Law School for the Arkansas Bar Association’s “Best of CLE” program.

The presentation, titled “Patent Litigation: Could Arkansas be Home to More Suits after TC Heartland?” will cover changes to patent venue rules following the U.S. Supreme Court’s May 2017 decision in TC Heartland v. Kraft Food Brands. It includes a history of venue in patent litigation, the Federal Circuit’s expansion of patent venue, how TC Heartland fundamentally changed patent litigation by restoring a more narrow interpretation of the patent venue statute, and what the return of the venue defense means for patent litigation in the state of Arkansas.
