Kutak Rock partner Michael Low will chair a seminar titled “Captive Insurance 101” at the 2019 State Bar of Arizona Convention on June 27 in Chandler, Arizona. Themed “The Power of Inclusion,” the Convention is a three-day event featuring nearly 50 CLE seminars.

Mr. Low’s program will explain captive insurance companies, including how they help corporate and non-profit clients manage risk. There will also be an overview examining potential federal and state tax issues for captive insurance companies. Joining Mr. Low on the panel will be Brandon Keim of Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold, and W. Rae Brown, C.P.A., GPW and Associates, Inc.

A partner in the Scottsdale office of Kutak Rock, Mr. Low is a member of the firm’s Insurance Regulatory and Compliance Practice. He sits on the boards of 15 captive insurers and serves as an elected board member and immediate past president of the Arizona Captive Insurance Association. He is also a registered lobbyist for a number of large insurance providers.

Arizona is ranked second in the U.S. in captive insurance premiums and number 10 in the U.S. in the number of captive insurers domiciled in Arizona.
