Peter Barrett Moderates a Panel Discussion at American Bankruptcy Institute

Kutak Rock partner Peter Barrett moderated a panel discussion at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Annual Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. on Friday, April 12, 2019.

 

The “Not So Free, Not So Clear: An Ethical Walk Through Asset Sales” panel used hypotheticals to discuss the ethical problems facing counsel and their clients in § 363 sales including collusion, abuses during due diligence, and successor liability. The panelists included Scott B. Cohen of Engelman Berger; Peter J. Roberts of Fox Rothschild LLP; and Cynthia Romano of CR3 Partners LLP.

 

Founded in 1982, The American Bankruptcy Institute is known as the nation’s largest association of bankruptcy professionals. The organization is made up of over 12,000 attorneys, bankers, judges, lenders, professors, turnaround specialists, accountants and other professionals.

 

Mr. Barrett represents unsecured and secured creditors, trustees, lessors, equity holders and corporate debtors in insolvency matters, including Chapter 11 reorganizations, business liquidations and loan workouts.
