Kutak Rock’s Public Finance Practice Ranked No. 1 Bond Counsel in Southeast U.S. for 2018

For the second year in a row, Kutak Rock claimed the top spot among bond counsel firms in the Southeast based on the par value of financings completed in 2018. The firm served as bond counsel for 29 bond transactions totaling more than $3.4 billion in aggregate principal amount last year. According to the Thomson Reuters-Refinitiv 2018 Year-End Municipal Market Analysis, the firm completed approximately $640 million more in bond counsel transactions than any other firm in the Southeast.

Nationally, Kutak Rock is one of the most active firms in the roles of both bond counsel and disclosure counsel. For 2018, Thomson Reuters ranked Kutak Rock as the number four bond counsel and the number five disclosure counsel in the nation.

Thomson Reuters, now Refinitiv, is a leading information source for the financial, legal, tax/accounting, scientific, healthcare and media markets. It based the rankings and volume totals on all long-term municipal new issues underwritten and reported from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.

More than 110 attorneys comprise the firm’s Public Finance Group across 14 office locations. Kutak Rock’s southeast region is resident to 20 public finance attorneys in the Atlanta, Little Rock and Richmond offices. The firm distinguishes itself from other municipal finance firms by maintaining an entire department of tax lawyers who focus on the area of municipal finance tax law.
