Brian Buescher, a partner in Kutak Rock’s Omaha office, has been nominated by President Donald Trump for a federal judgeship. He will have a confirmation hearing before the United States Judiciary Committee, which will then make a recommendation to the Senate prior to a full vote being taken.
If confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Buescher would join the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. U.S. Senators Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) and Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) recommended Mr. Buescher for the bench.
“Brian Buescher has had a successful legal career. His background, experience, and judicial philosophy are the reasons I recommended him to President Trump for this judgeship. I look forward to a fair and swift Senate confirmation process so that Mr. Buescher can soon serve on the Nebraska federal bench, said Senator Fischer in a statement.
“Nebraska’s commitment to the rule of law and the Constitution are hallmarks of our state,” remarked Senator Sasse. “Brian Buescher is a proud Nebraskan and will serve our state well in his new calling.”
I am deeply honored that President Trump has nominated me for this important position,” said Buescher. “I am also grateful to Senator Fischer and Senator Sasse for their support.
“Brian is an outstanding choice to serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska,” said Mike Curry, Managing Partner of Kutak Rock’s Omaha office. “Brian is a talented and productive attorney and we will miss him greatly upon his confirmation by the United States Senate. Brian’s extensive experience, exceptional track record, and strong commitment to public service along with his high integrity will serve him and the people of Nebraska very well as a federal judge. We all offer him our sincere congratulations.”
