A January 22 Kansas City Business Journal article highlighted the first patent issued to Kutak Rock client Alphapointe covering its Tactical Mechanical Tourniquet (TMT). Over the last five years, nonprofit Alphapointe, one of the largest employers of the blind in the United States, has been developing the TMT in conjunction with the military. The TMT is a significant improvement over what has previously been available for our troops and has the potential to save numerous additional lives. Alphapointe hopes to close a $10 million contract with the U.S. military for the TMT and this patent further validates the lifesaving product.
