On May 19, 2016, a jury found in favor of a Fortune 400 client and against the plaintiff in a sex and pregnancy discrimination case brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The verdict was reached in less than an hour of deliberation, following a four-day jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. The plaintiff alleged she was terminated following a maternity leave and a recent disclosure of a second pregnancy. The client defended the lawsuit with evidence of the plaintiff’s unsatisfactory performance as the legitimate, non-discriminatory basis for the separation. Kutak Rock employment litigator, Gigi O’Hara, served as lead trial counsel, and defended the case along with Bob Slovek.
