Kutak Rock attorney Michelle Ueding presented at the Iowa-Nebraska ESOP Chapter 2016 Winter Conference on February 25 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ueding and co-presenter Charles Smith of First National Bank of Omaha provided a breakout session entitled "Legal and Fiduciary Update." The session covered new developments in the regulatory environment and how best to fulfill fiduciary requirements in light of continued litigation and Department of Labor activity. Ueding also participated in an "Ask the Experts" roundtable discussion.
The Iowa-Nebraska Chapter of The ESOP Association includes firms of all sizes and many different industries ranging from firms with well-established ESOPs to businesses considering whether or not an ESOP is the right fit. The membership also includes ESOP professionals, experts in ESOP law, banking, valuation, accounting, lobbying and legislation.
Ueding is a partner in Kutak Rock’s Omaha office and a member of the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. She concentrates her practice primarily on qualified plans, deferred compensation plans and ERISA issues relating to these arrangements. She assists clients with plan design, due diligence, fiduciary duties, administration, investment review, disclosure requirements, drafting plan policies and administrative procedures.
