Kutak Rock attorney Andrew McNichol has published an article titled "AirBNB, A (Soon to Be) Victim of Its Own Success" in the Fall 2015 issue of @Law, the magazine of the National Association for Legal Professionals.
In the article McNichol urges Air Bed 'n' Breakfast hosts (and those contemplating becoming hosts) to review state and local laws carefully before renting out their homes. He points out that although AirBNB offers up to $1 million in insurance to cover damage to the property by a guest, most homeowners' insurance excludes coverage when the home is used as a business.
