Kutak Rock client City of Shawnee, Kansas is among 15 winners of the 2015 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

City of Shawnee is recognized for its systematic policies to take care of and honor its reserve component members and families, including continuing benefits during deployment, providing differential pay, sending care packages and celebrating returning service members.

The Department of Defense presented the awards in a ceremony at the Pentagon on August 21.
