Deborah Prosser presented at the annual Legal Forum for the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association on “Lender and Lessor Liability” in Nashville on May 5, 2015.

Prosser was part of a panel that discussed how finance lessors can avoid the risk of products liability lawsuits by removing themselves from the equipment chain of distribution. Her presentation specifically addressed rail fleets, ship fleets, truck fleets and medical equipment. This topic is intended to help finance lessors understand the pitfalls of certain provisions in finance leases that can inadvertently put the lessor at risk of litigation.

Prosser is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Kutak Rock. She manages national litigation and serves as a first-chair trial lawyer. Prosser focuses her practice on the defense of high-profile toxic tort, environmental, pharmaceutical, products liability and commercial cases.
