Kutak Rock attorney Mariza McKee co-authored an article, “Self-Regulation and IIUSA’s Enforcement Procedure,” with Kurt Reuss in the March 2015 issue of the Regional Center Business Journal.
The article outlines the Association to Invest in the USA’s (IIUSA) enforcement and complaint procedures. It highlights that IIUSA recently implemented three policies to provide a standard, forum and procedure for its members: the IIUSA Code of Ethics and Standards, the Code and Standards Enforcement Procedure, and the Complaint Forum in an effort to improve program integrity. The article presents information on the IIUSA’s opportunity to play an active role in the EB-5 industry’s self-governance and its commitment to enforcing standards of professional conduct among the association’s members. McKee provides guidance through the complaint process and addresses issues of concern in connection with the EB-5 industry for IIUSA members.
McKee is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office and concentrates her practice on the representation of private and public companies in securities and corporate matters. Her practice is specifically focused on structuring, negotiating and documenting complex structured EB-5 financings.
