When Kutak Rock opened its doors 50 years ago, founding partner Robert Kutak made a commitment to hiring women attorneys, resulting in numerous accolades in the 1980s and 1990s for Kutak Rock’s high numbers of women lawyers and women partners.
In December 2014, The American Lawyer once again recognized Kutak Rock’s track record for promoting women to partnership. Kutak Rock was listed as one of only 20 AmLaw 200 firms whose new partner classes were at least 30% women in at least two of the last three years.
The 2014 honor roll listing complements an AmLaw Daily article in 2012 lauding Kutak Rock as one of only six AmLaw 200 firms to make women partners over 30% of the time over a four-year period.
“Bob Kutak learned early that we had an extraordinary opportunity to hire outstanding women lawyers by making part-time and flextime schedules available. This just builds on itself, for the firm, for the partners, for our business,” said David Jacobson, Firm Chair.
Five decades later, the commitment continues. Kutak Rock is proud to announce that, in its fiftieth year, women comprised 40.1% of the attorneys who have made partner.
