News | May 13, 2014

Michael G. Mullin, a partner in the Omaha office of the national law firm Kutak Rock LLP, recently completed his 2,000th mediation. Mullin, who has practiced law since 1980, has been mediating cases for 14 years and currently mediates approximately 300 cases per year in numerous states across the country.

“Mike Mullin is the definition of professional,” said Mike Curry, managing partner of Kutak Rock’s Omaha office. “His years of experience have allowed him to build a strong legal practice, and his mediation services are an excellent alternative to time-consuming and expensive protracted litigation. Mike has been able to resolve even the most challenging issues in a timely, cost-effective manner, and his 90% resolution rate is remarkable given the complexity of the claims and disputes he is retained to resolve. He adds a practical resolution dimension to our client service model and we are proud that he is a part of our firm.”

Mullin is the only Nebraska lawyer to be inducted as a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, which is a group of the world’s top 160 business and commercial mediators. He also is the only Nebraska mediator inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Civil Trial Mediators. Mullin has been repeatedly recognized for his skills as a mediator, including being named the Best Lawyers® 2014 Omaha Mediation Lawyer of the Year. He twice has been recognized by inclusion in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Mediators, an honor limited to fewer than 90 mediators in the United States and approximately 300 worldwide. He is a charter member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and has been certified by the American Academy of ADR Attorneys. His mediation practice has been recognized by Great Plains Super Lawyers, Corporate Counsel Super Lawyers, Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, Avvo and The Best Lawyers in America©.

Mullin mediates all types of civil matters including business and commercial disputes, professional negligence claims, employment claims, catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims, banking and securities disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes, FELA claims, FLSA and FACTA class-action suits and environmental disputes. He brings three decades of experience as a trial lawyer to the process of helping parties in a dispute to see one another’s perspectives and achieve a reasonable resolution.
