Kristine Schanbacher, an associate in the Omaha office, recently was appointed to the City of Omaha’s new police Citizen Review Board. Schanbacher was selected by Mayor Jean Stothert out of more than 160 applications.
The board was created in January 2014 to build trust between residents and the Omaha Police Department. The appointees will review internal police investigations and annual data to provide recommendations to the mayor and the police chief.
The board includes five representatives from each of the city’s four police precincts and one at-large member. Schanbacher will serve as the southwest precinct representative.
Schanbacher is a member of Kutak Rock’s litigation department. She focuses her practice on insurance coverage, claim valuation and contractual indemnity matters. In addition to her insurance litigation experience, Schanbacher has represented clients in general commercial disputes involving breach of contract, trademark infringement and patent infringement
