Susan has had experience as lead local counsel for numerous asbestos defendants, handling products liability cases from initial assignment through the discovery phases to the motion stages and ultimate resolution or dismissal. She coordinated the work of several attorneys and was the primary firm contact for each client.
In addition, Susan is involved in the national defense of clients on mass tort claims, including asbestos matters. She works with corporate witnesses and experts from a wide range of disciplines, coordinates with local defense counsel and clients and, with the Kutak Rock team, charts the course of national discovery and trial
Susan also is experienced in preparing reports based on forensic investigations into allegations of fraud in the banking context. Cases which she investigated developed into claims of fraudulent transfer and fraudulent misrepresentation in connection with bank loans. She performed detailed document reviews of bank and corporate records, tracing the loan proceeds thereby uncovering mishandling and fraudulent transfer of these funds. She has handled these cases from the investigative stage through the pleadings, discovery and motion stages until the resolution of the matters. She also has drafted expert reports based on her investigations.
Susan has experience in New Jersey appellate practice and bankruptcy issues as they pertain to creditors' rights. She has drafted adversary complaints subsequent to client’s filings of proof of claim, handling the cases through discovery and resolution.
