Mercedes A. Dahlquist


Mercedes is a member of the firm’s Finance and Restructuring Group although with her vast experience and client relations, she is often called on by the firm’s other practice groups seeking her wide-ranging experience. More than half of Mercedes’ practice is split with the firm’s national Tax Credits practice.

In addition to her many years involved in non-legal diligences including nuclear power, national accounting and public polling industries, Mercedes brings nearly a quarter century of legal experience to her client’s transactions. She has extensive experience representing clients in connection with direct purchase and publicly issued taxable and tax-exempt bond financings; conventional, governmental and private equity finance structures; commercial real estate acquisition, development, financing, leasing and dispositions; and affordable housing, low income tax credit and historic tax credit investments by national syndicators and direct investors. Further, Mercedes specializes in advising investors on real estate aspects and financing structures in connection with such investments. Her two plus decades of real estate experience emphasizes acquisition, development, financing and leasing of commercial office, manufacturing and industrial projects, technology data centers, and affordable housing developments, with projects combining one or more sources of private equity, conventional or bond financing and various local, state and federal funding sources.

Mercedes leads a team of attorney’s concentrating on advising tax credit investors on various workout, syndication, asset management and disposition issues, including providing guidance relating to exit strategies in connection with both upper-tier and lower-tier investments. Her client centered practice is routinely sought out by national financial institutions, institutional lenders, real estate and tax credit lenders and investors.
