Kutak Rock LLP's Kansas City office is seeking a corporate associate attorney for its commercial lending practice group. Ideally, the candidate would have 0-3 years prior law firm transactional experience.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in a transactional practice, in particular, representing commercial banks in taxable and tax-exempt lending transactions.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including but not limited to, loan and collateral security documents.
- Basic understanding and desire to develop expertise in conducting financing transactions.
- Ability to competently and professionally communicate with clients and supervising attorneys.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and tasks simultaneously and to complete tasks efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to learn new substantive legal topics and factual subject matters as needed based on the nature of a matter.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- Strong organization and matter management skills.
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates and support staff.
- Ability to work effectively with large working groups as part of a transaction team.
- Graduation in the top 50% of law school preferred, however, all candidates will be considered.
- The position requires a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school in the United States and an active license to practice law in Missouri that is in and remains in good standing.
