Kutak Rock served as state and local bond counsel for the Colorado Department of Education’s BEST Grant Program designed to build and improve Colorado educational facilities. The Kutak Rock team served as bond counsel to the State of Colorado on all of its financings through the program. The firm also served as local bond counsel to over half of the participating schools in the financings.

Kutak Rock served as bond counsel to the City and County of Denver in the financing of 223 new low-income apartments in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood. The Kutak Rock team, led by John Henry, Jack McGill and Fred Marienthal, assisted in closing the $43 million financing to build the new apartment buildings.

A team of Kutak Rock attorneys, led by partners Fred Marienthal and Micah Halverson of the firm's Denver office, served as borrower’s counsel in a $20 million bond financing for the SilverLakes Equestrian and Sports Park in Norco, California.

April 1, 2015

Kutak Rock attorneys Daniel Lynch and Mario Trimble, partners in the firm’s Denver office, represented the City of Aurora, Colorado as bond counsel on a $1.4 million financing to expand the Aurora History Museum to include a restored 100-year-old trolley.

December 2, 2014

Kutak Rock attorneys Tom Weihe, Michael Thomas and Mike Johnson served as underwriter’s counsel for the Denver Regional Transportation District’s $441 million offering of certificates of participation (COP). The proceeds of the certificates will be used to develop the North Metro Rail Line from Denver Union Station to 104th Avenue.

A multi-office, multi-disciplinary team of Kutak Rock public finance and bankruptcy attorneys acted as underwriters’ counsel and counsel to the dealer manager in connection with the successful tender offer for outstanding bonds and the issuance of approximately $1.8 billion in revenue bonds by the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD).

Kutak Rock attorneys Dan Lynch, Tom Snyder and Michael Frandina successfully represented the City of Aurora, Colorado in a lawsuit filed by 11 Colorado hotel owners against the City’s involvement with the Gaylord Rockies Hotel and Conference Center.
