Mr. Tyson, a partner in the firm’s Chicago office, provides practical, strategic advice to clients on governmental and business matters. He works across several practice areas with specific emphasis in the areas of public finance, real estate, banking, tax credits, private investment funds and government affairs, to help clients solve problems and achieve their business goals.

Mr. Tyson’s legal tenure includes serving as Chief of Staff to the President of the Cook County Board, Legislative Counsel to the Mayor of the City of Chicago and Democratic Party slated candidate to the 10th Legislative District of the State of Illinois.

  • Bond counsel to the State of Illinois on its $3.366 billion pension bond financings.
  • Underwriters’ counsel in connection with the County of Cook’s $715 million Build America Bond direct payment issuance.
  • Underwriters’ counsel in connection with the $1,469 billion State of Illinois (Illinois Department of Employment Security) Unemployment Insurance Fund Building Receipts Revenue Bonds, Series 2012A, B and C.
