Kutak Rock Seventh in 2009 Bond Buyer Rankings

Kutak Rock was the number seven bond counsel in the United States in 2009 based on dollar volume, serving as bond counsel for 255 bond deals aggregating more than $8.8 billion in principal amount, according to statistics recently released by Thomson Reuters.

Historically, Kutak Rock has ranked among the most active bond counsel in the nation since rankings have been compiled, including ranking in the top 10 for the past 15 years.

As underwriter’s counsel, the firm made a significant leap from its 2008 18th-place ranking to seventh, with 142 issues aggregating $6.9 billion. The firm also improved to the number five disclosure counsel in 2009 from a 12th place ranking in 2008, with 85 issues aggregating $3.9 billion.

Regionally, the Colorado office placed as number one bond counsel in the state based on number of bond deals closed (84, compared to 62 by their nearest competitor).
