Keystone — On November 18, Tom Peltz, a senior partner in Kutak Rock LLP’s Denver office, will be speaking on a panel at the 2009 Annual Conference of the Colorado Government Finance Officers (CGFOA) Association about Colorado Energy Assessment Bonds. The first series of these municipal bonds in Boulder, CO were issued in May and Kutak Rock LLP served as bond counsel. The program provides financing loans to owners of residential and commercial properties to encourage energy efficiency improvements and the installation of renewable energy technologies. Along with speakers Russ Caldwell from D.A. Davidson & Co., Larry Hoyt, Boulder County Attorney, and Ramona Farineau, Boulder County Debt & Revenue Manager, Mr. Peltz will be addressing the legal issues and new duties for finance officials that these bonds bring to a community implementing a similar program. Mr. Peltz concentrates in the area of public finance, with a focus on Colorado issuers. In the renewable energy sector, he has served as counsel in connection with the issuance of a variety of revenue bonds, including clean renewable energy bonds for the funding of wind and solar projects. |
