Professional Biography

Harold L. Rock received his J.D. from Creighton University in 1959 and began his professional career as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit for Judge Joseph W. Woodrough. Mr. Rock then worked as an associate at the Omaha firm of Fitzgerald, Hamer, Brown and Leahy from 1960 to 1965 before leaving to start the firm with Robert Kutak and William Campbell.

Mr. Rock has an extensive background in general corporate and bankruptcy reorganization matters, corporate finance and federal securities law. He is admitted to practice in Wyoming, Nebraska, Minnesota, Montana and New York and before the Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States District Court of Nebraska and the United States Supreme Court.

Awards and Recognition

Mr. Rock has committed much of his personal and professional time to various legal and civic organizations. He has served as president of the Omaha Bar Association and the Nebraska State Bar Association. From 1992 to 1995, he served on the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association and has served on numerous councils and committees for the ABA, including the Standing Committee on Ethics, the Law School Accreditation Committee, the National Judicial College and the American Bar Endowment, and as director for the Fund for Justice and Education.

Mr. Rock is a former president of The Robert J. Kutak Foundation, a philanthropic institution established in 1983, and has served as president of the Boys Town Boosters. In addition, Mr. Rock has served on the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, on the Nebraska Bi-Centennial Commission, as past president of the Creighton University Alumni Association and as development chairperson for the downtown YMCA in Omaha.

Mr. Rock continues to serve the firm as “of counsel” in the Omaha office.
