Mr. Mottla is an associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office where his practice focuses on public finance. Mr. Mottla primarily serves as bond counsel in connection with a range of affordable housing financing structures utilizing public offerings, private placements and/or direct purchases of credit-enhanced and mortgage-secured bonds, bonds collateralized by loan proceeds and tax-exempt loan structures. Mr. Mottla has also served as bank counsel, purchaser’s counsel and underwriter’s counsel in debt issues relating to hospital expansions and water and sewer facilities.

Prior to joining the public finance practice group, Mr. Mottla assisted in the representation of brokerage firms and financial institutions before the SEC and FINRA. During law school, Mr. Mottla was an intern at the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Virginia.
