Mr. Wray is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Information Technology Group. He provides both transactional and litigation-based protections for clients' intellectual property interests.

Representative Experience:

  • Software license agreements and related maintenance, support and implementation services agreements.
  • Master Services Agreements and related amendments and statements of work for support and implementation of technology services across industries.
  • Response to claims and lawsuits related to alleged infringement of trademarks and patents.
  • Defend clients' rights in disputes over trademarks and service marks, including cease and desist letters and filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Contract disputes involving breach of contract, counterfeit goods, and breach of warranties.
  • Open-source software (OSS) licensing impact and risk analysis related to incorporation of OSS into proprietary code-bases.
  • General corporate formation and governance.

From January through May 2013, Mr. Wray served as a legal extern to the Honorable Judge William J. Riley, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Prior to his work as an associate with Kutak Rock, Mr. Wray spent over a decade in the information technology field. This included extensive experience designing, developing and implementing a wide range of technology solutions, including off-the-shelf software, custom-built software, and hardware acquisition for laboratory, pharmaceutical and health care industries. He specialized in database operations ranging from query optimization to disaster recovery and business continuity planning. His graduate studies focused on information assurance, and he worked for over two years as an adjunct professor teaching mathematics, computer science and information assurance courses.
