Mr. Deitchler has a trial practice representing businesses and individuals in construction, contract, banking and other commercial disputes. Mr. Deitchler also has significant experience in general negligence, products liability, and other complex civil litigation and insurance-defense matters.

Mr. Deitchler’s construction law practice involves representing general contractors, subcontractors, design professionals, trade contractors, design-build firms, owners, surety companies and insurance companies in state and federal court. His representative cases include:

  • A multimillion-dollar case involving more than 20 parties, in which Deitchler obtained summary judgment on a novel issue of Arkansas law for a subcontractor who was facing negligence, breach-of-contract and other claims from a general contractor.
  • A case involving over $80 million in claims, in which Deitchler represented a national design-build firm in a lien foreclosure and construction defect defense action; the case was favorably settled one week before trial.
  • A construction defect case involving almost $4 million in damages, in which Deitchler obtained summary judgment for a trade contractor on contractual indemnity and contribution claims asserted by the project architect.
  • An insurance subrogation matter involving products liability claims against domestic companies and a foreign manufacturer.

Mr. Deitchler’s commercial and civil litigation experience spans the spectrum from breach-of-contract business disputes to financial institution litigation to post-trial appellate work. In addition, Deitchler is involved in election law and public relations matters, having worked on political campaigns in five states and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor in Little Rock, Arkansas. He currently serves as a commissioner on the three-member Washington County Election Commission.

Mr. Deitchler is a member of the Washington County Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. He is active locally in the W.B. Putman American Inns of Court group in Northwest Arkansas.
