Ms. Blumenthal is of counsel in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Her litigation experience extends to a variety of matters including complex commercial litigation and contract disputes, construction, employment discrimination, products liability and planned community litigation. In the course of her practice, Ms. Blumenthal has handled many aspects of civil litigation, ranging from pre-litigation counseling, to discovery and dispositive motion practice, to settlement conferences and negotiations, to trial advocacy. Ms. Blumenthal has appeared before state and federal courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and has served as second chair at trial. She earned her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Cornell University in 2002 and her law degree from William and Mary School of Law in 2007, where she was in the top 10% of her class. During law school, she served as a notes editor for the William & Mary Journal of Women and the Law.

Ms. Blumenthal actively represents contractors in numerous construction-related disputes and personal injury defense matters. She also is experienced in representing condominium associations in various matters, including an association’s major design defect claims against a general contractor. In addition, Ms. Blumenthal’s commercial litigation experience includes representing a solar system design and installation firm in commercial and corporate matters in New Jersey, including defending them at trial in a minority shareholder oppression matter.

Ms. Blumenthal is experienced in handling employment discrimination matters and in counseling clients relative to employee discipline and performance management. Her law experience includes successfully representing a steel pail manufacturing company in a federal court sexual harassment matter in which the jury entered judgment in favor of her client. She also has counseled and defended major pharmaceutical company clients in matters including unfair trade practices actions, Medicaid fraud claims and products liability.

In addition, Ms. Blumenthal is involved in the national defense of clients on mass tort claims, including asbestos and benzene matters. She works with corporate witnesses and experts from a wide range of disciplines, and charts the course of discovery and trial strategy.

Ms. Blumenthal is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia and Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, serves as a certified arbitrator for the Philadelphia County Courts of Common Pleas, and is a volunteer mediator with the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Lawyer-Client Fee Dispute Resolution Program. In addition, Ms. Blumenthal is actively involved as a volunteer and fundraiser for the national Alzheimer’s Association.
