Ms. Wilson is an associate in Kutak Rock’s Irvine office and practices primarily in the Financial Services Litigation Practice Group representing and defending mortgage lenders, mortgage loan servicers, and investors in lawsuits brought in federal courts, including the United States District Courts in California and United States Bankruptcy Courts in California, as well as in California state courts. Her work entails defending clients against federal statutory claims for violation of the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act, and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, among others; California state statutory claims for violation of California non-judicial foreclosure statutes; Financial Elder Abuse, Unfair Business Practices, the California Commercial Code; as well as common law claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence, promissory estoppel, and wrongful foreclosure, among others. Ms. Wilson is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and the California Bar Association and regularly attends mortgage industry meetings and seminars to stay current in this quickly changing practice area.

In addition, Ms. Wilson has broad experience handling other types of civil litigation including business, commercial, personal injury, medical malpractice, employment law, and social security disability law.

Ms. Wilson graduated in 1984 from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Physical Anthropology. After a first career as a chef, Ms. Wilson attended and graduated from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, receiving her Juris Doctorate in 2003 with an emphasis on banking law, bankruptcy, and secured transactions. Following law school, Ms. Wilson served as a judicial law clerk for the Superior Court of Massachusetts, working with a number of Judges in civil and criminal matters, before entering into private practice. Ms. Wilson is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in Massachusetts. After relocating with her family to California in 2008, Ms. Wilson was admitted to practice law in California and has appeared in numerous California Superior Courts, as well as the United States District Courts in Southern, Central, Northern, and the Eastern Districts, and the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California.
