Ms. Curylo, a partner in Kutak Rock LLP’s Chicago office, has represented clients nationally in over $20 billion in aggregate principal amount of various municipal bond and structured debt financings. She focuses her practice on hospital and senior living transactions, EB-5 loan financings, and student loan securitizations. With a background in economics, past experience working as a debt trader for a prominent international bank, and nearly a decade of experience counseling clients through billions of dollars of complicated debt transactions, Ms. Curylo brings a versatile skill set to the negotiation table.

  • Bond counsel for governmental and nonprofit hospitals in Illinois and Colorado in connection with over $1 billion of tax-exempt bond financings.
  • Counsel to new commercial enterprises and regional centers in connection with loan documentation and EB-5 capital deployment aspects of EB-5 financings.
  • Bond and underwriter’s counsel for tax-exempt and taxable student loan issues throughout the country with respect to Higher Education Act student loans and private, supplemental student loans, including over $19 billion of fixed-rate bonds, variable rate demand bonds and LIBOR floating rate note structures.
  • Guest speaker at the National Association of Bond Lawyers.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Curylo worked as a finance and capital markets associate in the Chicago office of a prominent international bank which had locations in over 60 countries and total assets then aggregating over $560 billion. Ms. Curylo focused on trading commercial paper for the bank and analyzing and modeling various debt products, including mortgage-backed securities purchased by bank traders. As a result, she has a unique understanding of debt products and internal business demands and appreciates her clients’ needs for practical, efficient and timely solutions.

Ms. Curylo also volunteers her time and acts as the law firm’s representative in the annual Chicago Bar Foundation’s Investing in Justice campaign; donations raised for this campaign provide pro bono and legal aid resources to the elderly, disabled individuals, veterans, children and many others in the Chicago area who are in need of legal assistance through local pro bono and legal aid organizations approved by the Chicago Bar Foundation.
