Mr. Thompson is a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office and concentrates his practice in commercial real estate transactions including finance, workouts, restructures, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and development. His extensive experience includes a wide array of conventional lending, structured finance, tax-exempt bond and government-funded or guaranteed finance transactions secured by a broad range of real estate collateral such as affordable housing, student housing, retail, industrial and office projects. He also represents retailers, investors and developers in the acquisition, disposition, leasing and development of commercial properties throughout the United States, including shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, apartment complexes and office buildings. With his organized, responsive and pragmatic approach backed by tremendous experience, Mr. Thompson has enabled his clients to successfully navigate complex transactions in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Counsel to several major financial institutions in real estate-secured public finance transactions involving the issuance of over $700 million in tax-exempt bonds to finance multifamily housing, student housing, industrial and office projects across the U.S.
  • Represent national home improvement retailer in the sale and leasing of outparcels across the U.S.
  • Represent one of metropolitan Atlanta’s largest counties in designing and implementing its Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
  • Counsel to major banks in workouts and restructures involving varied real estate collateral.
