David's practice focuses on real estate transactions and commercial lending.

David has been with the firm since his graduation from law school in 1993. He represents both lenders and borrowers in large and small financings involving a variety of collateral. David has represented buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants in connection with a variety of real estate matters. He also devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing businesses in their acquisition and disposition of assets.

  • Serving as lead counsel in connection with the organization of a new company for the purpose of diligencing, acquiring and financing 20 restaurants in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
  • Supervising a team of attorneys to facilitate the sale of 100 casual dining restaurants to individual buyers over a 45-day period.
  • Serving as counsel to many lenders in connection with their servicing and workout of troubled loan facilities.
  • Representing various franchisees in the purchase and sale of restaurants, including negotiating space and shopping center leases.
  • Representing a Fannie Mae DUS lender in connection with its multifamily real estate loans.
  • Supervising and coordinating a team of 20 attorneys to facilitate the sale of 500 convenience store properties to individual buyers over a five-month period.
  • Representing several large national franchise lenders in connection with their real estate and equipment financings.
  • Representing various lenders and borrowers in connection with their long- and short-term asset-based financing.
  • Representing many business owners in day-to-day leasing and asset purchases and dispositions.
  • Representing various lenders in connection with participations, loan sales and intercreditor issues.
  • Acting as liaison between lender and local foreclosure and bankruptcy counsel in connection with many defaulted real estate and equipment loan facilities.
