Michael focuses his structured finance practice on commercial real estate finance and development, banking, commercial lending and affordable housing transactions.

Michael represents institutional lenders, domestic and foreign banks, credit enhancers, equity providers, joint ventures, public and private partnerships, business corporations and governmental entities in a wide range of complex financial transactions, including transactions that relate to or are secured by interests in commercial real estate, mezzanine finance and debt and equity restructurings and workouts. He also serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, disclosure counsel, credit enhancer’s counsel and bond purchaser’s counsel in connection with tax exempt and taxable financings and tax credit financing of affordable housing and governmental projects.

Michael also represents developers, owners, retailers, landlords and tenants in the development, acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of office buildings, industrial properties and shopping centers and other retail developments.

Michael is actively involved in the affordable housing field, where he represents developers, not for profits, investors, lenders and housing authorities.
