Lance Tyson Moderates Panel at the Democratic Governors Association Regional Policy Conference

Lance Tyson, an attorney in Kutak Rock’s Chicago office, moderated a panel at the Center for Innovative Policy Panel Discussion: DGA Regional Policy Conference in Chicago on June 24, 2014.  Introduced by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, Tyson moderated the first of three panels that focused on infrastructure.  The panelists  included Paul La Schiazza, President of AT&T Illinois; Thomas Livingston, regional Vice President of CSX; Jonathan Berger, CEO of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock; Elizabeth Rao, Vice President and National Public Transit Chair of HNTB; and Jason Hutchens, Solution Sales Engagement Manager¬—Public Safety (Central Region) of Motorola.  Fred Marienthal, a partner in the Denver office of Kutak Rock and Chairman of the firm’s Political Action Committee, was also in attendance of the event.

Tyson’s panel predominately focused on manufacturing and infrastructure.  His questions drew on topics regarding the communication industry, both in the mobile and digital field, as well as the legislation on public, maritime and urban transportation.  The panel came to a close with a discussion on the soundness of our cyber infrastructure in relation to public and school related cyber-threats. 

Tyson focuses his practice on public finance law, real estate and government affairs and has provided legal services in several note and bond issues, including many innovative and complex financings for various governmental entities.  Tyson also acts as counsel to banks, trustees and investment banking firms in connection with public offerings of municipal debt.
