Mr. Ellsworth is a partner with the public finance group in the firm’s Kansas City office. He primarily acts as bond counsel and special tax counsel to municipal issuers in connection with the issuance of municipal bonds. Mr. Ellsworth has assisted issuers with taxable and tax exempt notes and bonds for refunding and new money issues, lease purchase transactions and certificates of participation. His experience includes acting as bond counsel to state housing finance agencies issuing multifamily housing revenue bonds and municipalities issuing industrial revenue bonds. In addition, he has presented on the topic of municipal bond disclosure and regularly advises issuers on continuing disclosure obligations and related annual filing requirements.

Prior to joining the public finance group, Mr. Ellsworth practiced commercial real estate law and represented purchasers, lenders and landlords in real estate acquisition, financing and leasing matters. He earned a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis (in 2003 and 2011, respectively) and his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2011. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
