Members of Kutak Rock's nationally recognized Federal Tax Controversy Practice represent taxpayers before the IRS and in all federal and state courts in which tax disputes are litigated. We represent our clients—including individuals, nonprofit organizations, hospitals, large corporations and other for-profit business entities—through all stages of the administrative process with the IRS, from the audit and administrative appeals process through the judicial litigation process.

Our Federal Tax Controversy Practice focuses on IRS examinations, as well as the various alternative dispute programs offered by the IRS to taxpayers.  We take great pride in our ability to favorably resolve our client's disputes with the IRS and avoid litigation when possible, allowing our clients to achieve a favorable resolution while mitigating the costs and risks of litigation. However, when necessary, our team of highly skilled trial attorneys are prepared to represent our clients in all phases of the judicial litigation process.

Our Federal Tax Controversy practice has the substantive tax expertise and experience dealing with the IRS.
