We have a long history working with the unique challenges facing multiemployer plans. We can assist with establishing and maintaining Taft-Hartley (multiemployer) plans and advising the plans’ trustees on all aspects of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Internal Revenue Code and the Labor Management Relations Act.

Our attorneys regularly counsel a large number of clients on issues relating to participation in multiemployer pension and welfare plans. We advise clients on issues relating to critical or endangered plans, withdrawal liability (and related negotiations or arbitration), controlled group liability and plan termination. We have extensive experience evaluating issues relating to multiemployer plans as they arise as a part of business acquisitions or dispositions and working with both management and labor unions in achieving resolution.
