Ms. Peterson practices in the area of municipal finance, with an emphasis on state agency housing financings. She serves as both bond counsel and general counsel to the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, as bond counsel to the Oregon Housing and Community Services Department (multifamily program) and as special tax counsel to the Washington State Housing Finance Commission in connection with their single-family program. She is familiar with the programmatic aspects of single-family and multifamily financings, including compliance with certain provisions of Sections 142 and 143 of the Internal Revenue Code, and has expertise in various types of bond credit enhancements. Ms. Peterson has participated in drafting both federal legislation (tax and housing) and state legislation.

Ms. Peterson supervises the firm’s engagements for the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority and its programs. She serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and as Chair of the firm’s Associate Evaluation Committee. She also is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee.

  • Ms. Peterson has provided legal services as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, special tax counsel and in other capacities in more than 535 public finance issues, with an aggregate principal amount exceeding $17.5 billion.
