Origis Energy USA Announces New 32.5 MWAC Solar Project for Georgetown University

News | September 18, 2017

Kutak Rock congratulates Origis Energy USA (Origis), which has announced it will develop a 32.5 MWAC solar power system for Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., with the main solar facility to be located in Charles County, Maryland.

Kutak Rock served as lead counsel representing Origis in its negotiations with Georgetown for the power purchase agreement, which document will provide Origis with the legal certainty it will need to finance, construct and operate the project over the long term.

Once complete, the solar facility will generate approximately 75,000 megawatt hours of power each year and provide 49% of the electricity load for Georgetown’s campus. The project will create approximately 200 jobs during construction, which is anticipated to start in early 2019 and be completed by summer 2019.
