Nathan G. Smith

Nathan primarily practices in the areas of real estate, land use, water and environmental law.

His real estate practice includes sales and acquisitions, leasing, management and operations through either drafting, negotiating or reviewing purchase and sale agreements, leases and development agreements on behalf of clients in all industries. Nathan also has experience in all facets of condominium and homeowners association law.

Nathan’s water rights practice focuses on the sale, exchange and transfer of water rights. In addition, he has experience representing public and private entities in the protection of their water and the development of water banks for the mitigation of prospective uses.

Nathan’s land use and environmental law practice includes clients in the forest products/timber, mineral, ski facility and agricultural industries in the development of their property for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. He has significant experience in regulatory issues for property owners and governmental entities in addressing compliance with Washington’s State Environmental Policy Act, Shoreline Management Act, Growth Management Act, Clean Air Act and Model Toxics Control Act. Nathan has also assisted clients on issues involving the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA and RCRA.
