Mr. Hubbard is of counsel in the firm’s Kansas City office. He successfully represents financial institutions, businesses, executives, and construction firms in arbitration and state and federal courts in the Midwest, and provides legal advice and guidance to such clients in non-litigated legal matters.

  • Mr. Hubbard has served as lead trial counsel on hundreds of litigation and arbitration matters and has first-chair trial experience. His clients range from large institutional clients to entrepreneurial start-ups.
  • Mr. Hubbard has substantial experience representing financial institutions against lender liability lawsuits alleging violations of, inter alia, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Truth in Lending Act, Consumer Financial Protection Act, Home Affordable Modification Program, and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, claims for breach of fiduciary duty, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, and breach of contract. He also has significant banking experience handling loan enforcement and bankruptcy cases, receiverships, and commercial real estate & personal property foreclosures.
  • Mr. Hubbard concentrates his practice in commercial and civil litigation. He represents clients in a large variety of business disputes involving real estate, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, personal property, operating agreements, contracts, torts, and negligence and fraud claims.
  • Mr. Hubbard advises and represents developers, construction & engineering companies regarding construction contracts (preparation, negotiation and enforcement), construction claims & disputes, performance & payment bonds, and mechanic’s liens.
  • Mr. Hubbard also has significant litigation experience defending national gaming companies, insureds and insurers on personal injury and wrongful death claims.
  • Mr. Hubbard represents and advises businesses and financial institutions regarding their rights and obligations under the Uniform Commercial Code, including, inter alia, claims & defenses, sales of goods, merchants, remedies, damages, security interests, notice requirements, discharge, presentment, payment, and setoffs.
