Mariza McKee, an associate in Kutak Rock’s Chicago office, recently presented at the Fourth Annual EB-5 Market Exchange during the general session on October 24, 2014 in San Francisco, California. The conference, presented by the Association to Invest in the USA (IIUSA), was attended by international investment and economic development professionals to gain knowledge from experts on trending EB-5 topics. The conference is the largest IIUSA EB-5 conference to date, with nearly 550 EB-5 stakeholders in attendance.

McKee presented with Dan Healy, CEO of Civitas Capital Group, and Dawn Lurie, shareholder at Polsinelli, on “EB-5 Best Practices & Compliance: How IIUSA is Elevating Industry Standards.” The presentation discussed the concerted efforts of IIUSA’s Best Practices and Compliance Committees and their dedication to providing resources and education to IIUSA members to elevate industry standards. McKee, co-chair of IIUSA’s Compliance Committee, discussed her committee’s work to contribute to market transparency by educating market participants on IIUSA’s industry code of ethics policies and enforcement processes, as well as newly proposed securities best practices.

McKee focuses her practice on structuring, negotiating and documenting EB-5 financings. She counsels regional centers, private equity funds, developers, lenders, borrowers and community development agencies that manage or are otherwise involved with domestic and international equity offerings seeking EB-5 investment.
