News | October 21, 2015

Veteran attorneys Adam A. Veltri and Kenneth S. Witt have joined Kutak Rock's national energy and natural resources practice. Veltri and Witt’s arrival strengthens the firm's reputation as trusted legal advisors with business experience to companies spanning all industry sectors. They will work with the firm’s more than 24 attorneys who serve the energy industry in whole or in part. Resident in Denver, they join a national platform of well-integrated attorneys focused on deepening and expanding relationships and pursuing new projects in the Rocky Mountain region and nationally.

Veltri has more than 25 years of experience in commercial transactions and corporate finance, and concentrates his practice on the oil and gas industry. He has advised a variety of oil and gas companies and investment firms on issues related to acquisitions, divestitures, financings and operations. He also has held senior management positions with two exporation and production (E&P)companies, focusing on oil and gas title examination, joint ventures, exploration and development agreements, joint operating agreements, participation agreements and credit agreements.

Witt, a corporate and securities attorney with more than 30 years of experience, represents energy and non-energy clients in public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. He also serves as lead counsel on a wide variety of sophisticated transactions, including venture capital investments, information technology outsourcing, international finance and strategic alliances. Most recently, he led the private equity and venture capital practice group at his former firm.

Bob Irvin, Managing Partner of Kutak Rock’s Denver office and the Vice Chair of the firm remarks, “The addition of Adam and Ken to the firm’s energy and natural resources group is a win for the firm and a win for our clients. Kutak Rock’s local market presence in key energy states positions us well; however it’s the solid industry reputations of our lawyers and the firm’s value proposition that sets us apart. Adam and Ken’s experience inside company walls and across the table as private practitioners make them an ideal complement to the national practice, and we’re excited to welcome them and their clients to Kutak Rock.”

Veltri notes, “Kutak Rock’s reputation as a firm rooted in business values and inspired by a spirit of entrepreneurialism make for an ideal platform from which to serve clients. We are excited to build on the already strong foundation of industry relationships and continue to deliver value to our clients.” Witt adds, “Current industry and market conditions are ripe for a different kind of client-counsel relationship. Our clients are looking for innovative strategies for funding new ventures and recapitalizing existing ones, to move quickly and realize the full potential of opportunities. Kutak Rock’s reputation as distinguished finance and dealmaker counsel is an ideal fit for our practice.”
