Kim Casey Reed Speaks at Public Financing Conference

Kim Casey Reed, a partner of the Denver office, spoke at CLE International’s Inaugural Public Financing Conference held on April 7, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton in Denver. The conference focused on the use of public finance tools in commercial development and redevelopment. Reed’s presentation focused on public finance options available to fund public infrastructure, with an emphasis on the use of special districts to issue tax-exempt debt.

Other issues covered at the conference included national municipal bond market trends and trends specific to the Colorado market, urban renewal authorities, tax increment financing and working with developers to form public entities, new markets tax credits, the use of public improvement fees in public finance transactions, and public finance in rural communities.

Reed focuses her practice in the area of public finance, routinely serving as bond counsel, special disclosure counsel and underwriter’s counsel in a variety of municipal finance transactions. She has worked with a variety of issuers in such transactions, including Colorado special districts, cities, towns and counties, nonprofit corporations, school districts and urban renewal authorities.
