Only 100 applicants were selected from over 400 applications to participate in the conference.

On December 27, 2010, the newspaper Law Week Colorado named Mr. Marienthal as one of 11 "Lawyers of the Year" in the State of Colorado. He received a Lawyer of the Year designation because of his extensive community service and specifically his role as bond counsel to Metropolitan State College of Denver for the new Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center (HLC) to be built on the Auraria Campus by 2012.

In August of 2014 Mr. Marienthal was named to the University of Colorado Denver’s Chancellor’s Development Committee. The Committee assists with fundraising efforts for CU Denver’s schools and colleges.
