Evan's practice focuses on representing clients in complex restructurings, Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcies and related litigation. Evan has represented debtors, asset purchasers, distressed investors, trustees, secured and unsecured lenders, DIP lenders, creditors’ committees, unsecured creditors and landlords in some of the world's largest bankruptcies. Evan's practice expands throughout the country having significant experience practicing in the bankruptcy courts of Delaware, New York, Texas, and Colorado. He also advises buyers in acquisitions of distressed assets and other transactions involving troubled companies.

In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Evan also represents parties in corporate and commercial litigation matters representing clients in both state and federal courts around the nation, including the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Prior to joining Kutak Rock, Evan worked for a premier bankruptcy law boutique in Wilmington, Delaware focusing on high-stakes bankruptcy litigation, distressed transactions, and corporate litigation.

  • Represented chapter 7 trustee in large residential mortgage company chapter 7 bankruptcy.
  • Represented landlords in chapter 11 proceedings of Lone Star Steakhouse and Logan's Roadhouse.
  • Represented international company in sale of substantially all assets in Article 9 sale.
  • Represented owner of USS Sequoia Presidential Yacht in dispute with secured lender in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
  • Defended charter school in receivership action in Court of Chancery.
