News | April 13, 2015

Kutak Rock attorney Deborah Prosser spoke on a panel at the Corporate Counsel College of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) on April 16, 2015 in downtown Chicago. The panel discussed “The Ultimate Battlefield: Attack on Your Brand during Litigation and Trial—Strategies and Tactics for Offense and Counter Attacks.” This two-day program was designed specifically for in-house counsel and their trusted outside advisors.

The panel addressed the best practices when a company is attacked, and the challenges and exposures to the business and its insurers. The panel identified practical and legal issues to prevent corporate brand attacks, and provided insight into the issue with respect to today’s instantaneous medical and social media and the risk of damage to a corporation’s reputation. Prosser draws on her experience in managing national and state litigation involving chemical, asbestos and pharmaceutical mass torts to discuss trial and litigation strategies that are effective in combating brand attacks by the plaintiff bar both inside and outside the courtroom.
